1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:

• Account data — your name and email address via Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple or email login (Firebase Authentication). If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive the relay address.
• Nutrition & food logs — meals, calories, and macros you log manually or via AI scan.
• Body metrics — height, weight, age, and activity level you enter for calorie goal calculations.
• Health & fitness data (Android only) — steps, active calories, and exercise sessions read from Health Connect, only if you grant permission. The iOS app does not access Apple Health (HealthKit).
• Meal photos & descriptions — images or text you submit to the AI scan / describe features. The app asks for your permission before the first time anything is sent. Only the submitted photo or text is sent to OpenAI's API for analysis — not your name, email or other logs — and we do not store it on our servers.
• Subscription data — purchase and subscription status managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
• Device information — basic app diagnostics (crash logs, performance data) via Firebase.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To display your daily nutrition summary and history.
• To calculate personalised calorie and macro goals.
• To power the AI meal scan and describe features via OpenAI's API.
• To manage your Premium subscription status.
• To send meal reminder notifications (only if you enable them).
• To improve app stability and performance.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your food logs, goals, and profile are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your unique Firebase user ID. Only you can access your own data. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Meal photos sent to the AI scan feature are transmitted directly to OpenAI's API and are subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We do not retain these images on our servers.

4. Health Data (Android)

On Android, Nourix can read steps, active calories, and exercise sessions from Health Connect. This data is used solely to display your activity summary and estimate calories burned. We do not share health data with any third party. Health data is not used for advertising.

You can revoke Health Connect access at any time from your device's Health Connect settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Nourix uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and crash reporting.
• OpenAI — AI meal analysis (photos and text descriptions).
• RevenueCat — subscription management.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — payment processing.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Nourix offers optional auto-renewing Premium subscriptions. On iPhone and iPad, payment is processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID; on Android, by Google Play. We never see or store your payment card information.

iOS: manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Android: manage or cancel via Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. For refunds, contact Google Play support.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request data deletion, all your food logs, profile data, and account information will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Nourix is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for Health Connect access at any time.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use of Nourix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
